Decryption of the FIA report

Sunday October 5, Jules Bianchi collides head-on with a lifting machine, intervening at the edge of the track to evacuate the car by Adrian Sutil, released a lap earlier at the same place. The Frenchman from the Marussia team is transferred to hospital, suffering from diffuse axonal injury. Hospitalized since then, the state of health of the 25-year-old from Nice remains very serious, but stable. The FIA immediately requested clarification on the circumstances of this dramatic accident. The report drawn up by race director Charlie Whiting attempts to answer several questions: why not bring forward the start of the race? Why not deploy the Safety Car after Sutil's exit? The issue of the Marussia's speed was also discussed.
