Robert Shwartzman, Alex Palou, Theo Pourchaire (see Interview following pages) and Logan sargeant, who performed on the COTA tarmac during the first day of the United States Grand Prix, all have the perfect profile. Supervised by stable channels, they theoretically have the best chance of one day accessing a starting seat. It is for hopefuls like them, to facilitate their access to the premier discipline, that the sporting authorities have forced the teams to field young drivers as part of a Grand Prix weekend. In 2019, the latter were required to run them during at least two of the four days of testing organized during the season, but they were not obliged to do so during an official free practice session.
