Audiences on the rise for F1 in 2018

Liberty Media announced an increase in TV and digital audiences in 2018, for the second year in a row.

Audiences on the rise for F1 in 2018

Consequence or not of a more contested duel between Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) and Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari), the TV broadcast audiences of the Grands Prix F1 further progressed in 2018.

Liberty Media, at the head of the discipline, confirmed its figures for the past year, including traditional broadcasts (television) but also digital, via subscription to F1 TV, the new service launched last year and available on computer, tablets and mobiles.

490,2 million unique viewers were recorded by the American entity, an increase of 10% compared to 2017. France is one of the countries where growth is one of the most significant with + 51%. Brazil, China and the United States are the three largest countries in terms of the number of unique viewers.

Cumulative audiences in the twenty largest markets peak at 1,59 billion, an increase of 3% compared to 2017. Overall audiences stand at 1,758 million.

Monaco and France in the top most watched GPs

The flagship round of the championship, the Monaco Grand Prix remains the most viewed in 2018 with 110 million viewers (+10% / 2017). Bahrain, France, Austria, Great Britain, Italy and Mexico are among the events attracting more than 90 million viewers.

Liberty Media also announces a significant increase in fan engagement on its social networks, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube.
