Important points for Toro Rosso

Two stops for the Russian Daniil Kvyat, just one for the Frenchman Jean-Eric Vergne, the double strategy of Toro Rosso paid off at the British Grand Prix last Sunday. If the two drivers from the Faenza team finished 9th and 10th, their places on the starting grid, this double points result is the first since the opening of the season in Australia in Melbourne last March and comes after an intense battle in the peloton, particularly for Vergne.

“It’s a solid race for the whole team, admits the tricolor. Having two cars in the points is certainly a good result. I am happy with my race. Starting from the back of the grid after the red flag and passing all the cars in front of me was actually a lot of fun. I think today I got my aggression back, and that's definitely a boost for my confidence. »

Kvyat remained satisfied, but thought he could play for 8th place with Hulkenberg and his Force India at the end of the race. “I was actually faster than him and got really close, but unfortunately I couldn't pass him in the end. Overall I am very happy with this weekend and I really enjoyed this track with its high speed corners. And after having a few difficult races, it's good to see that all the work paid off and we were able to put both cars in the points. »

The Toro Rosso STR9 is back on track today at Silverstone for private testing on the English track.
