Di Grassi, between Renault and Virgin

Lucas di Grassi, after two days of F1 testing with Renault this week in Jerez, returned to Brazil, where he competed in the 500 Miles of Granja Viana, a karting lasting eleven hours. But the current objective of the third pilot of Renault F1 Team is to find a steering wheel for the next season of Formula 1.

« I am studying several possibilities, confides Lucas, and Renault is of course one of them. I have been with Renault for a long time and I have unwavering confidence in the team, and I am already grateful for the investment they have put into my career. Being a reserve driver for two years helped me build a strong relationship with the team, the engineers, and the car. »

But Renault's situation is not yet stabilized and, even if it remains in F1, the team based in enstone could choose another driver to team up with Robert Kubica. Therefore, to reach Formula 1, the Brazilian could turn to Manor, whose team will be renamed Virgin Racing. In 2005, Lucas di Grassi distinguished himself by winning the Grand Prix F3 from Macau with Manor.

« My preference is actually Manor, or rather Virgin, attests the Brazilian. I think it's the best of the new teams. But the most important thing for me is to find a seat available in F1. If it is neither with Renault nor with Virgin, it will be with someone else. So I'm talking with a few teams right now. »
