Donington in bad shape

Donington Park does not appear to be heading towards hosting the British Grand Prix in 2010, with the company operating it having communicated that the necessary funds have not yet been found.

« Donington Ventures Leisure Limited confirms that the search for the sum of 135 million pounds to cover the costs of developing the circuit to standard F1 was unsuccessful », Specifies the press release from the operator.

Donington Park still has until Monday midday to find the necessary funds to be able to host the British Grand Prix in future years. Otherwise, the contract concluded with FOM (Formula One Management) will be rendered null and void. Silverstone could thus recover a race which must have attended it for the last time in 2009.
