FP1: Rosberg takes the lead in Barcelona

For the first turns of the wheels of the F1 2015 version on European soil, Nico Rosberg showed himself to his advantage at the end of the first test session on the Barcelona track. The pilot of the Mercedes W06 Hybrid n°6 dominated the session with a best time established in 1’26″828 on hard tires and is ahead of his teammate by 70 thousandths Lewis Hamilton. Note that the vice-world champion is under investigation after rushing into the pitlane after the pin placed at the entrance to the pit lane.

Both Ferrari de Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen ranked 3rd and 4th, one second behind the two Silver Arrows. The two follow Toro Rosso de Carlos Sainz et Max Verstappen who are ahead of the big sister again Red Bull. The quadruple world champion team was in difficulty again this Friday in Catalonia, since although Daniil Kvyat set the 7th time, the Australian Daniel Ricciardo was forced to spend most of the session in his pit, probably the victim of mechanical problems on his RB11, before finally returning to the track at the very end of the session and moving up to 9th position behind Felipe Massa (Williams).

Felipe Nasr (Sauber) completes the top 10. The Italian Raffaele Marciello (Sauber) who was lined up in place of Marcus Ericsson signs the 12th time, and leads the third drivers British Jolyon Palmer (Lotus) and Susie Wolff (Williams) the latter being classified less than nine tenths from Massa, which respectively replaced Romain Grosjean et Valtteri Bottas the McLaren de Fernando Alonso, victim of a spin in the final seconds, and Jenson Button took 15th and 16th positions.
