EL2 in Montreal: Verstappen continues well, concern for Ricciardo

Slightly behind in the morning, Ferrari returns to the forefront thanks to Kimi Räikkönen whose best mark fails 0,130 seconds behind the time Verstappen. Daniel Ricciardo, which is using an old version of its MGU-K this weekend after the problems encountered in Monaco, ranks 3rd. The Australian, however, spent a long time in the pits due to an unidentified electrical problem.

The best Mercedes is relegated to more than half a second with Hamilton in 4th place. The Briton is ahead Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) and his teammate Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) to form a very familiar Top 6. The Silver Arrows once again avoided Pirelli's Hyper-Soft compound, which had proven to be a real headache for the reigning four-time world champion team in Monte Carlo.

Author of the 7th time, Romain Grosjean brings back Haas in the first half of the table. The Frenchman is ahead of the two Force IndiasEsteban Ocon and Sergio Pérez, who had to give up his place to the reservist Nicholas latifi in EL1. Fernando Alonso hoist again McLaren in the Top 10 with whom to flirt Charles Leclerc (Sauber), 11th.

For the second session in a row, a Renault resulted in a red flag being displayed. This time it is Carlos Sainz who hit the rail at the junction of turns 6 and 7. The Spaniard was able to return to his stand but did not return to the track after the incident.

Discreet session for the third Musketeer on the board since Pierre Gasly must be satisfied with the 18th fastest time. Finally, the weekends follow one another and are the same for Williams including the two FW41s bringing up the rear, Lance stroll preceding only Sergey Sirotkin for his home meeting.

The third and final free practice session will take place on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. local time (17:00 p.m. in France). It will be followed by the qualifications at 14:00 p.m. (20:00 p.m.) which you will be able to experience live thanks to our live commentary on CARhebdo.fr.
