FP3 – Hamilton back at the front at Interlagos

The battle plan Mercedes is always well ordered. With or without Toto wolff, the world champion team is gaining momentum over the course of a Grand Prix weekend, as evidenced by the result of the third and final free practice session in Sao Paulo (Brazil), Saturday November 16.

The training session held no surprises. Outstripped the day before by Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton increased the pace and set the best time with its soft tires (in 1’08”320). But don't think his lead is gargantuan.

Indeed, the Red Bull de Max Verstappen is only 26 thousandths behind the Briton. The Reds, for their part, made the switch, with a worrying outlay of three tenths for Charles Leclerc et Sebastian Vettel, who is celebrating his 100th start with the Scuderia at Interlagos.

The fifth best performance is occupied by Alexander albon (Red Bull), who puts his Friday accident in the drawer of bad memories. The great performances of the morning are due to Daniil Kvyat (Toro Rosso, seventh) and Antonio Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo, eighth), in front of the McLaren

In a competitive session on a dry track, Pierre Gasly (Toro Rosso) signs the 12th time. THE Renault are in a bad position before the qualifications, because none of them appear in the first half of the table. Nico Hulkenberg is 13th, Daniel Ricciardo 15th, in front Romain Grosjean (Haas).

Finally, the Racing Point and the Williams bring up the rear. Robert Kubica, who changed chassis after his collision with the rail in FP2, honed his mechanics.

Qualifying will begin at 19 p.m. French time and will be followed live with commentary on AUTOhebdo.fr.
