FP3 – Leclerc and Ferrari in control in Sochi

The Ferrari were the fastest in the final practice session of the Russian GP in Sochi. Charles Leclerc once again set the benchmark by completing a lap in 1’32”733 with more than 3 tenths ahead of his teammate Sebastian Vettel.

The Mercedes were the closest but seemed to struggle against the pace of the SF90s. Lewis Hamilton was able to get closer to less than 4 tenths while Valtteri Bottas finished more than 6 tenths behind.

Max Verstappen (Red Bull) completed the Top 5 almost 1”5 from the benchmark. The Dutchman achieved his best time on medium tires, damaging his RB15 on a curb at the end of the session. His teammate Alexander albon failed in 7th place behind Romain Grosjean (Haas).

Nico Hulkenberg (Renault) took 8rd place ahead Lando Norris (McLaren) and Kevin Magnussen (Haas).

Pierre Gasly (Toro Rosso) ranked at the foot of the Top 10 while his teammate Daniil Kvyat again encountered engine problems after only 4 covered laps.

Daniel Ricciardo (Renault) finished 12th ahead of Carlos Sainz Jr (McLaren), Antonio Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo) and the Racing Point of Sergio Pérez Lance stroll. Kimi Räikkönen (Alfa Romeo) took 17th position ahead of George Russell (Williams). Robert Kubica (Williams) completed the ranking.
