EL3: Rosberg by one breath ahead of Verstappen

Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) further improved his performance from the day before by two tenths by setting a time of 1'20''261 at the Hungaroring in the last practice session for the Hungarian Grand Prix, contested in summer conditions. The Championship leader was only two thousandths ahead Max Verstappen (Red Bull), while Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) set the third fastest time.

Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) finished in fourth place, half a second behind his teammate. The three-time world champion, who missed a good part of the second session following his exit from the track, seemed more in difficulty on his W07 Hybrid.

The Briton ranks ahead of Ferrari by Kimi Räikkönen and Sebastian Vettel, even if the four-time world champion is more than four tenths behind his teammate. Fernando Alonso (McLaren), seventh, is the first driver more than a second behind the benchmark.

Valtteri Bottas (Williams) is eighth ahead of Sergio Pérez (Force India) and Jolyon Palmer (Renault). Felipe Massa (Williams) follows in 11th place ahead Kevin Magnussen (Renault) and Jenson Button (McLaren).

Romain Grosjean (Haas) finished in 15th position, one tenth behind his teammate Esteban Gutiérrez. The Frenchman is ahead Carlos Sainz Jr. (Toro Rosso), Nico Hulkenberg (Force India) and Daniil Kvyat (Toro Rosso). The Saubers of Felipe Nasr and Marcus Ericsson precede the Manors of Pascal Wehrlein and Rio Haryanto.
