Outstripped by Mercedes then suffered a mechanical breakdown on Friday, Max Verstappen got back on the right path this Saturday. During EL3, the Dutchman set the best time with a lap in 1'14"958, pushing his closest pursuer back by almost half a second.
Discreet the day before, Lando Norris (McLaren) showed a completely different side for the first outing of the day. The Briton climbed to second place, still 0 behind Max Verstappen.

The first Mercedes is in 3rd position and it is that of Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes). Author of the two best times on Friday, Valtteri Bottas settles for 8th place.
Sixth at the finish, Pierre Gasly (Alpha Tauri) came between the two drivers Ferrari Charles Leclerc (5e) and Carlos Sainz (7th). Fast, the Norman can now concentrate on qualifying where he has a card to play in view of the Grand Prix.
French side, Alpine saw its drivers finish in the Top 10 with Fernando Alonso 9th just ahead Esteban Ocon. Both finished more than 1” from the lead
Always in the hard, Sebastian Vettel (Aston Martin) could not do better than 14th, two ranks behind his teammate Lance stroll. The AMR21 is definitely far from expectations at the start of the season.
The Williams, Haas and Alfa Romeo occupy the last six positions on the timesheet with George Russell ahead Mick Schumacher, Nicholas latifi, Antonio Giovinazzi, Kimi Räikkönen and Nikita mazepin.
