Nico Rosberg was the fastest in the first practice session of the Singapore GP held early in the evening. With a time of 1’47”995, the German was 3 tenths ahead of his teammate Lewis Hamilton and Red Bull de Daniel RicciardoStrolling along the Ferrari de Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen complete the top five ahead of Williams de Valtteri Bottas, first driver more than a second behind.
The Toro Rosso finish in the top ten, but the RB11 of Daniil Kvyat finished behind. The Russian was only able to cover seven laps following a mechanical problem. Romain Grosjean (Lotus) was also discreet since he ranked 14th, 3 tenths behind his teammate Pastor Maldonado. Felipe Massa (Williams) is only 17th.
Alexander Red did not start his first Grand Prix in the best way. Manor's new recruit F1 Team tore the right wheels off its MR04 when it hit the barrier at the entrance to the Tunnel after oversteering a few minutes from the end of the session. The American finished last, 2 hundredths behind his teammate Will Stevens.
