F1-EL3: Rosberg ahead of Hamilton in Mexico

Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) set the best test time for the Mexican GP on the Hermanos Rodriguez circuit by completing a lap of the track in 1'21"083 with a lead of 14 thousandths over his teammate Lewis Hamilton who was the fastest on medium tires. The three-time world champion missed his first flying lap by passing through the grass and focused on the long relays.

Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) was the closest to the Silver Arrows, pointing at one tenth of the reference. The Australian precedes the Ferrari de Sebastian Vettel et Daniil Kvyat (Red Bull). The local star Sergio Pérez (Force India) ranks sixth ahead Valtteri Bottas (Williams), Carlos Sainz Jr (Toro Rosso), Felipe Massa (Williams) and Nico Hulkenberg (ForceIndia).

Romain Grosjean (Lotus) finished 13th after experiencing a mechanical problem in the second session. THE McLaren are far away with Fernando Alonso 15th and Jenson Button at the back of the peloton. The 2009 world champion again encountered mechanical problems, stranding him in the pits for most of the session.
