F1-EL3: Rosberg opportunistic at the Canadian GP

Nico Rosberg achieved the best time in practice for the Canadian GP with a lap completed in 1'15"660 on the Gilles Villeneuve circuit in Montreal. The pilot Mercedes was able to highlight himself, unlike his teammate Lewis Hamilton who is in the last row. The Championship leader was unable to put in a real performance following the red flags caused by Felipe Nasr and Jenson Button.

The Sauber driver made a mistake 20 minutes from the checkered flag while overheating his tires. The Brazilian lost control of his car and crashed into the wall, significantly damaging the front of his C35. The end of the session was again interrupted by the stopping on track of the McLaren of the British victim of a mechanical problem.

Kimi Räikkönen is closest to Nico Rosberg with more than half a second behind. Romain Grosjean is in 3rd place, more than a second behind the benchmark, but the Lotus driver set his time on soft tires. The Frenchman is ahead Valtteri Bottas, Sergio Pérez and Daniil Kvyat. Seventh, Felipe Massa is the closest to the E23 Hybrid with the yellow sidewall tires, clocking in at 3 tenths. Sebastian Vettel et Carlos Sainz Jr complete the top ten ahead Pastor Maldonado.

Qualifying for the Canadian GP will be followed live from 19 p.m. (French time) on AUTOhebdo.fr.
