F1: Pirelli satisfied with its tires

At the end of the first tests, the drivers unanimously noted a sudden drop in the performance of the Pirelli tires after just a few laps, with some even wondering what they would have to do in a few weeks during the first Grand Prix.

For its part, Pirelli says it is fully satisfied with the result and admits that the modest endurance of its tires was an essential element in the return of the show in F1. Paul Hembery, director of Pirelli's racing department, admits that "from now on it will no longer be possible to complete a whole race on a single set of tyres, and I think everyone will appreciate how our PZero tires can help make races more exciting in the future.

During the Valencia tests, Pirelli brought its entire range of tires (supersoft, soft, medium and hard), but the Italian manufacturer tempers its boss's judgment by specifying "that temperatures below 10° in the morning, and around 18° in the afternoon, pushed the majority of teams to use the softest tyres, and therefore the least durable.

Finally, it is not superfluous to remember that the operation of the SREC is not without effect on the performance of the tires.
