F1 – Vettel takes the lead in Barcelona

Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari), who for this first day of testing in Barcelona focused on working on the qualifying exercise, finished in the lead with a time of 1'23"220. A better performance (performed on soft tires) than that achieved last weekend during the Spanish Grand Prix. He is ahead of Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) who, with one hundred and nineteen laps completed, was the most diligent on the track.

Followed by Jenson Button (McLaren Honda), who failed to improve the time set in the morning while wearing supersoft Pirelli tires, and Romain Grosjean (Haas Ferrari), climbed the hierarchy following the switch to ultrasoft tires in the afternoon. Also note the sixth position of Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull Renault), who focused on accumulating kilometers with the new evolution of the Renault engine that he released for the occasion.

Finally, on the tricolor side, Pierre Gasly (Toro Rosso Ferrari) and Esteban Ocon (Renault) finished in seventh and tenth place, after completing seventy-eight and one hundred and five laps respectively.

1. Vettel (Ferrari) 1’23”220 (103 laps)

2. Rosberg (Mercedes) 1’23”337 (119 laps)

3. Button (McLaren) 1’23”753 (86 laps)

4. Grosjean (Haas) 1’23”882 (96 laps)

5. Wehrlein (Manor) 1’24”297 (86 laps)

6. Ricciardo (Red Bull) 1’24”307 (89 laps)

7. Gasly (Toro Rosso) 1’24”821 (78 laps)

8. Celis (Force India) 1’25”467 (99 laps)

9.Lynn (Williams) 1’26”071 (86 laps)

10. Ocon (Renault) 1’26”530 (105 laps)
