Felipe Massa: “Still a lot to do”

Ninth time yesterday, seventh today, Felipe Massa and the Team are very discreet in Jerez. But among the Italians, we do not seem to be panicking, and we are respecting the planned program to the letter. Everyone is aware that the times achieved in winter testing are not very revealing. But according to Felipe Massa, the F2012 has potential. “These two days have been different from usual, all month compared to what we had been used to at the beginning of previous years, explains the Brazilian. This car is full of elements requiring a lot of fine tuning, and they are different from what we had on previous single-seaters. We have focused on fine-tuning a few things and there is still a lot to do. As usual, some things work as expected, and others not so much. For example, I did a lot of laps at constant speed to gather information about the aerodynamics, because we need to be sure of the direction we need to go?.

And apparently, the changes made led to the desired result. “We have changed the set-up since yesterday (Tuesday. Editor’s note) he continues. And the results are those expected. It's important that it happens like this, it means that the car reacts as it should. Obviously there is still a lot to do, perhaps more than we expected at the beginning, but the work does not scare us”. In Maranello, we still have work to do. From tomorrow, engineers will be able to supplement the information provided by Massa with that of his teammate Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard will indeed take part in his first test session behind the wheel of the F2012.
