Fernando Alonso launches his eSports racing team

In addition to its various test sessions in Endurance, Fernando Alonso will turn to another aspect of car racing which has continued to grow in recent months: eSports. Both the F1 that WRC have launched their own championship and the double Spanish world champion will get involved through a new project.

In association with accessory manufacturer Logitech and the renowned G2 Esports team, the pilot McLaren will be at the heart of the racing team FA Racing G2 Logitech. The latter will engage simulation pilots on different games via multiple platforms.

“Every Formula 1 driver is a player at heart, said Fernando Alonso. Competing on the virtual stage opens up many opportunities for young drivers who would not otherwise have the chance to race.

For the first time, fans are no longer just spectators but can participate in the game and become real e-pilots in my team. I couldn't think of better partners than G2 Esports and Logitech G to start with. »

The team has already announced the recruitment of Cem Bolukbasi, finalist in the F1 eSports championship, whose final round will take place on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Let us also remember that McLaren, via the World’s Fastest Gamer competition, recruited a new simulator driver, in the person of Rudy van buren.
