Ferrari before the FIA on September 8

One year later Renault, It is Ferrari which is threatened by the FIA. A common point between the two stables, Fernando Alonso is involved again. In 2009, Renault saw its staff heavily punished for the 2008 Singapore GP affair. This time, Ferrari will be heard for having favored Fernando Alonso's victory at the German Grand Prix this season, by making it clear indirectly to Felipe Massa that he had to let himself be overtaken. It is this act which will be judged by the World Council on September 8, as the FIA explains:

“During the German Grand Prix of July 25, 2010 counting for the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship, the Stewards, after hearing the interested parties, noted an infringement by Scuderia Ferrari:

– in article 39.1 of the 2010 Sporting Rules (“Team directives which interfere with the results of a race are prohibited”)
– and article 151 c) of the International Sporting Code (“Any unfair process or maneuver likely to harm the sincerity of competitions or the interests of motorsport will be considered an offense (…)).

In view of the elements in their possession, the Stewards decided to impose a fine of $100.000 on Scuderia Ferrari and to submit the file to the FIA World Motor Sport Council.

On the basis of this decision and the investigation report, and following receipt of the report transmitted by the Sporting Stewards to the FIA, the President of the FIA decided, in accordance with the new rules of disciplinary procedure adopted on his initiative on 11 March 2010, to refer the decision to the World Motor Sport Council.

The World Council disciplinary hearing will be chaired by the FIA Deputy President for Sport and will take place on September 8, 2010 in Paris. »
