Ferrari should test a new Halo

The Italian team would bring an improved version of the Halo, a cockpit protection system which would be favored by the FIA for introduction in 2017.

After trying a first version of the Halo system in Barcelona last March, la Team Ferrari is expected to test a new iteration of its cockpit protection system during free practice for the Austrian Grand Prix tomorrow in Spielberg, as stated the BBC.

Kimi Räikkönen tested the device during pre-season testing, and Sebastian Vettel should be used Friday on the Red Bull Ring. The FIA is leaning towards this system compared to the system seen on the Red Bull RB12, called Aeroscreen.
