Ferrari evolves the F10

Ferrari, which won a victory but sometimes disappointed at the start of the season, does not want to let the world titles slip away this season. There Team, determined not to be left behind by McLaren et Red Bull saw his Ferrari again F10 ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix. Giancarlo Fisichella drove the “new” F10 on Saturday morning on the Vairano circuit, in order to test these new features and study the corresponding data before the resumption of the season on the Catalunya circuit.

For the occasion, Ferrari released a new chassis: code name 284, which will be intended for Felipe Massa for the rest of the season. In addition, many pieces have appeared or evolved. This is the case for the mirrors, which are no longer at the end of the aerodynamic elements of the sidepods, but which are now attached to the cockpit. The FIA made it compulsory after complaints from certain drivers, claiming that they could no longer see much in their mirrors, subject to the vibrations suffered by any aerodynamic element.

Ferrari also introduced its F-duct, a system which allows a flow of air to rush under the hull of the car and emerge at the level of the rear wing, thus eliminating some of the aerodynamic downforce, which is more annoying than effective at high speed and in a straight line. Fisico also tested other new aerodynamic features, planned in the F10 development plan.

It is therefore an evolved Ferrari from which Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso in Barcelona, especially if the data collected in Vairano proves positive. The Maranello team is thus preparing to counter the developments of other teams, McLaren and Red Bull in the lead. Verdict in Barcelona at the end of next week.
