Ferrari: The F2012 will evolve before Melbourne

After a difficult 2011, Ferrari had no other choice but to review his copy from top to bottom. There F2012, replacement for the F150° Italia, adopts the platypus beak nose of its rivals Caterham C01 and Force India VJM05. It now has tie-rod suspensions and displays aggressive aerodynamics in an attempt to catch up Red Bull and its future RB8. Pat Fry, the technical director in charge of the development of the F2012, has already announced other developments to come before Melbourne.

“The basics of the car are in place”, declared Pat Fry during the presentation of the Scuderia in Maranello. “We are clearly working on aerodynamics. We will bring an evolution for the third winter testing session (March 1 to 4 in Barcelona) as well as for the first race (March 16 to 18). It will then be a constant development of aerospace throughout the year. We will definitely have to take more risks. We tried to bring our own surprises (in development). But I think the regulations are rather restrictive. It was recently clarified on braking (ground clearance control system). »
