Ferrari: Räikkönen's farewell

Kimi Räikkönen, at 30, will turn the Ferrari page. After a world champion title in 2007 then two less successful seasons, the Finn was not confirmed in his functions by the Team. Ferrari even paid a high price to break Kimi's contract, in order to secure the services of Fernando Alonso. Despite this decision, the Finn wants to finish well.

« The Abu Dhabi race will be my last Grand Prix and, as usual, I will give everything to achieve the best possible result., specifies Räikkönen, who wants to brush aside the hypothesis of demotivation. We will try to end this difficult year with a good result, hoping that it will be enough to conquer third place in the constructors' championship, taken by McLaren in Brazil. »

« It will be difficult because the competition is very strong, continues the Finn. As both titles are played, some drivers risk letting go. Our direct competitors continue to work on their cars, while we have been driving the same car since the Hungarian Grand Prix at the end of July »

It is therefore time to say goodbye for Kimi, who will compete in his last race with the Prancing Horse stable. “ It's time for me to say goodbye to the people of Ferrari after three years together. I am proud of what we achieved, especially the drivers' title in 2007 and the constructors' title in the same year and in 2008. »

« This season the car has not been as competitive as we hoped. But at least we won a race and picked up some points. I hope we can end the season on something positive. »
