Sergio Pérez and Max Verstappen were summoned by the race commissioners. The pilots are accused of Red Bull, first and third respectively in the Monaco Grand Prix, for crossing the yellow line located at the exit of the pit lane. The Mexican and the Dutchman were expected at the commissioners at 19:15 p.m. This summons comes following a complaint brought by Ferrari.
Ferrari initially decided to file a protest against Red Bull and Max Verstappen after the Monaco Grand Prix. The Scuderia had in fact considered that the Dutchman crossed the yellow line located at the exit of the pit lane, while the Batavian had just made his second pitstop of the Grand Prix on the 22nd lap. A similar incident during the Pérez stop, still on the 22nd lap, was noted by the stewards without taking action, until now. Christian Horner, Red Bull team principal, learned while he was in the middle of a press briefing with print journalists this Sunday.
Already at the microphone of Canal +, Mattia Binotto was moved by the absence of an investigation opened by the race direction. “It wasn’t clear what happened with the yellow line, blurted the Italian. However, the race director's notes clearly indicated that it was necessary to stay to the right. So it's not clear what happened." The boss of the Scuderia therefore walked the talk since a protest against the result of Max Verstappen was therefore made.
