Ferrari takes its time to extend Räikkönen

Will Kimi Räikkönen stay at Ferrari in 2017? The question continues to agitate the paddock of the F1, Team having still not announced his intentions while the contract of the 2007 world champion ends at the end of the season. The Finn remains behind his teammate Sebastian Vettel by being 15 points behind, but he is showing loyalty to the team as he proved again at the European Grand Prix played last weekend in Baku (Azerbaijan) by letting the German pass.

“Kimi is back and fully focused on his work, commented Maurizio Arrivabene, Team Principal of Scuderia Ferrari, quoted by ESPN F1. “He showed last Sunday that he is a good teammate of Sebastian (Vettel). He was faster in a certain sector… We are assessing the situation, we are in no hurry and I must say neither is he. »

Several names such as Romain Grosjean or Sergio Pérez are already circulating as possible replacements for “Iceman”, but Maranello remains inflexible.

“It’s too early to talk about next season because we still don’t have any wins. There’s still a long way to go”, eclipsed Maurizio Arrivabene.
