Ferrari: Rossi satisfied with his tests

Seven-time MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi began his two-day test session behind the wheel of the Ferrari F2008 on Wednesday.

Sa car, version 2008, is equipped with GP2 tires so that these tests do not fall within the framework of development tests, prohibited outside of official pre-season tests. Valentino Rossi was able to complete 68 laps of the Montmelo circuit (Barcelona), more than 300 km.

« I am satisfied, comments the Transalpine. It was a good test, although it was wet in the morning and, without grip, I had some problems. Fortunately, thanks to the drying out in the afternoon, I was able to use the slick (tyres) and improve my lap times. »

The best time of the driver of MotoGP is 1?25??200, almost four seconds more than Kimi Räikkönen's best time with this car in 2008. However, any comparison should be avoided, due to the very different conditions (climatic conditions, tires). The Italian driver benefits from a second day of testing this Thursday.
