After a disappointing 2011 season, Ferrari was once again faced with correlation problems between its wind tunnel and on-track results during winter testing with the F2012. In order to solve its problems, the Reds have therefore decided to take the time to close their wind tunnel this winter in order to analyze its operation.
« Our real problem is that sometimes the data is the same between the wind tunnel and the track, which creates even more confusion. [Stefano] Domenicali came to the following conclusion: close our wind tunnel for a while and do our tests elsewhere while we analyze and correct our problems, explains di Montezemolo. I don't know if we will do it in December or January, but I have full confidence in Stefano. »
Despite these problems, Fernando Alonso currently leads the world championship Formula 1 with 29 points ahead of Sebastian Vettel.
