Jean Todt, president of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile since October 2009, must be heard by the FIA ethics committee this Friday. According to our colleagues at Times, his rival for the presidency, the Briton David Ward, would in fact accuse him of having violated the rules of the FIA by using letters of support which would have favored him.
Some delegates are said to have signed the “Ratification of the Puebla Agreement” behind which this support from the president is hidden: “ In view of the future FIA elections, which will be organized during the international assembly in December, the signatories, on behalf of our respective clubs and federations, wish to extend our strong support for your candidacy in the event of commitment to a second mandate as president of the FIA."
