Force India achieves its goal in Brazil

The objective of securing fifth place in the championship this weekend had been clearly announced by Vijay Mallya's men. Sixth place in Nico Hulkenberg in Brazil will have been enough to definitively put Lotus at bay.

“I am very happy with sixth place and the points that helped the team secure fifth place in the championship, indicates the German. This is the best result in our history and shows the progress we have made over the years. This fifth place is the result of the work of everyone in the team and we should be very proud of what we have achieved together.

The winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans last June, however, admitted to not having had an easy time at Interlagos, but benefited from a timely strategy from Force India. “I didn't get off to the best start with skating, which put me behind Bottas and Kvyat. Fortunately, I was able to retake these places with an early stop. This forced me to do two very long stints on medium tires, which was the main challenge in the race. »

Force India drivers Nico Hülkenberg and Sergio Pérez's next objective will be to remain in the top 10 in the championship, heading into the season finale in Abu Dhabi in just under a fortnight's time.
