Force India regains color before Canada

Force India regained confidence after the Monaco GP where Sergio Pérez took 7th place. If the VJM09 is poorly born, the Indian team will count on the performance of the Power Unit Mercedes to achieve great performances on the Gilles Villeneuve circuit in Montreal where the Canadian GP will be contested this Sunday, June 5.

After participating in Test Day of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Nico Hulkenberg will return to the paddock of the F1 with the firm intention of getting back into the top ten which he has been missing since the season opened in Melbourne, Australia. “The Montreal track should suit us. It's a power circuit because of the long straights there but which also requires good traction to get out of the slow corners... We will still have the soft and supersoft tires which worked well for us in Monaco and I think I will finish in the points this weekend. »

Invigorated by his top ten in the streets of the Principality, Sergio Pérez displays his enthusiasm. “I'm very positive at the moment. I feel like I'm at my best... Montreal is one of my favorite circuits. I still remember my podium in 2012 (with Sauber). I was having one of my best races last year, until the last lap. I had a chance to win, but things didn't go as planned.", remembers the Mexican who had a fight with Felipe Massa.

The owner of the stable Vijay Mallya is also optimistic coming to this route. “We have often done well in Montreal and it is one of the races where anything can happen, as we saw last year with Sergio. It's one of the best tracks of the season for us. This is a good opportunity in our fight for 4th place in the Championship”, specified the Indian businessman whose team is 4 points behind Sauber F1 Team.
