FOTA – FIA: where are we?

Strangely silent for several days, the FOTA member teams are about to know the fate that will be reserved for them next season. It is in fact, Friday June 12 that the FIA must make public the list of teams selected to participate in the World Championship of Formula 1 2010. But apart from the clear position of Williams and Force India who have dissociated themselves from FOTA and who should be at the start of the next season, for the rest, the situation remains very confused.

On Monday, Max Mosley reportedly wrote to the teams asking them to withdraw the conditions attached to their candidacy. In this letter, he would reiterate his desire to find a compromise with the teams. This does not seem to suit the protagonists who are considering another action.

Sources close to the organization led by Luca Di Montezemolo announced that FOTA would now be ready to take the lead and respond to the FIA president by sending him a letter. According to Autosport, the exact terms of the content remain unclear but it could be sent as early as Tuesday to the headquarters of the international organization.
