Gasly: “Not the result I was hoping for”

The summer break will be good for Pierre Gasly which was again somewhat transparent at the Hungarian GP. The Frenchman who only started in 6th position while his teammate Max Verstappen was on pole lost 3 places at the start and was only able to regain his initial position with a good strategy from his team. He finally finished one lap behind the Dutchman.

“It was very complicated since qualifying even though the first practice sessions went well. I didn't have a lot of pace and that continued today while being far from the front." he acknowledged.

“I didn't have a great start spinning my wheels and got sandwiched in the first corner. I had to fight afterwards to regain my position. I was sliding everywhere, it was difficult. This is not the result I was hoping for.”, added the pilot Red Bull.

While Max Verstappen almost achieved a 3rd victory in 4 races, Pierre Gasly has still not reached the podium. The observation in the championship is clear with 118 points difference between the two teammates.

“I'm still having fun, but it's always annoying to lack speed, admitted the French pilot. We will have to work to improve this and the break will be good for everyone to come back strong at the start of the school year and be more regular. In any case, I have learned a lot since the start of the year. »
