Gasly: Toro Rosso made good progress between the two sessions

Pierre Gasly intends to take advantage of his weekend without a grid penalty at the Brazilian GP to regain the points after having taken 10th place at the Mexican GP despite a 20th position on the grid. The pilot Toro Rosso set the 12th and 15th times in the first two practice sessions at Interlagos and felt the progress of the work as Friday progressed.

“The day was satisfactory, confirmed the future resident of Red Bull Racing in the Sao Paulo paddock. We had a complicated first session with various problems, particularly with the settings, but we were able to resolve most of them for FP2. The car suits me well although there is still work to be done. We were able to get closer to Force India's performance. »

Pierre Gasly hopes to help Toro Rosso regain the advantage over Sauber who are 3 points ahead of the Faenza structure with two races remaining in the season.

“Q3 will be the objective even if it will be complicated, especially with the Saubers who are faster here with the engine Ferrari which is effective in straight lines. Qualifying and the start will be decisive as a one-stop race is planned. We will still be able to make the difference with the DRS because the track offers quite long straight lines. We have to take advantage of this weekend where we don’t have any penalties to get points.”, confirmed the Frenchman.
