Giovinazzi breaks lap record in Hungary

The protégé of the Team Ferrari Antonio Giovinazzi established a new unofficial lap record of the Hungaroring circuit (Hungary) on Tuesday during private testing of Formula 1. The Italian clocked a time of 1'15''648, while Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) had achieved a time of 1'16''170.

However, the 2 GP2016 Series runner-up set his lap using tires super tender (pink sidewalls), a compound even softer and grippier than the tires offered to drivers during the Grand Prix last weekend.

Also equipped with super soft tires, Marcus Ericsson (Sauber) drove in 1'18''155. Other drivers used the super soft tires for the personal best lap like George Russell, the soft (Nicholas latifi, Oliver Rowland) or the medium (Nico Hulkenberg).

This day of testing was finally the opportunity to Force India and Williams to release a draft of the front wing 2019 version, widened and much simpler than the current fins used by the teams. This visual transformation is the result of the regulatory overhaul on aerodynamics, validated by the FIA.
