Giovinazzi becomes 3rd Scuderia Ferrari driver

Antonio Giovinazzi takes another step towards F1 by becoming the 3rd pilot of the Team Ferrari. It was Sergio Marchionne, the president of Ferrari, who announced the news during an event organized by the Prancing Horse this Monday, December 19.

“I can confirm that he will be our 3rd driver in 2017, said the Italian businessman. We chose him because he is a fantastic driver and I am even happier because he is an Italian. »

Antonio Giovinazzi's 2017 season schedule has not yet been revealed. Maurizio Arrivabene, Team Principal of the Italian team, specified that he should work on the simulator from January and drive an F1 from the 2017 season in certain test sessions during the season.

F1 has not welcomed Italian drivers on its starting grids since the 2011 Brazilian Grand Prix with Jarno Trulli and Vitantonio Liuzzi.

Sergio Marchionne took the opportunity to announce that the Ferrari F1 of the 2017 season would be presented on Friday February 24 in Fiorano (Italy).
