Mexican GP: Nico Rosberg's deliverance

The pilot Mercedes delivered a perfect race despite the intervention of the safety car by resisting his teammate Lewis Hamilton.

" I think that it’s the most beautiful podium of the season », commented Nico Rosberg on the podium. “The team managed our lead well and I managed to get a little ahead of Lewis before the safety car intervened, but I had to fight to keep my first place at the restart. »

Nico Rosberg benefits from the abandonment of Sebastian Vettel to regain second place in the Championship with 21 points ahead of the four-time world champion with two races remaining. “We chose to make a second stop because we had a sufficient lead (over Daniil Kvyat). I wasn't worried because this strategy was for both Mercedes. I am delighted by this success which allows me to regain second place in the Championship”, added the German.
