Grosjean: Lots to test

Elected Driver of the Day at the end of the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, Romain Grosjean brought to Haas F1 Team its first points in the discipline for its first racing outing with the VF-16 powered by the Power Unit Ferrari. A “victory” as the former Lotus resident liked to point out after the checkered flag at Albert Park.

Romain Grosjean and the Kannapolis team, however, quickly turned their attention to Bahrain, where the second round of the 2016 Championship will be contested this weekend. “We need to ride. We need to accumulate more mileage and deepen our understanding of the car, explains Romain Grosjean, referring to the generally mild weather on the Sakhir route. We have a long list of things to test and improve. There is a lot of work, but, on the other hand, it means that we can improve the car in large parts.

I always like to keep things positive. If we can do this in Bahrain, the car will improve and that means we can continue to work for better results. »

The Frenchman is also banking on the cohesion displayed within the American team to achieve these objectives as quickly as possible. “Since winter testing, everyone on the team has worked together as if they had been working together for several years. FP3 in Australia was the perfect example: they changed the bottom in about 25 minutes, which was incredible. »

The first free practice sessions in Bahrain will begin at 13 p.m. tomorrow.
