Grosjean: Q3 was possible
Romain Grosjean performed well in qualifying at the Belgian Grand Prix as the driver Haas finished at the gates of Q3 less than three tenths behind Jenson Button (McLaren). The Frenchman could even have gained a few tenths without a problem with straight line speeds.
“We should have had the potential to reach Q3, but we lack top speed, explained Romain Grosjean in the Spa-Francorchamps paddock. Esteban (Gutiérrez) agreed to jump in front of me to give me the benefit of the slipstream, but that wasn't enough. »
Romain Grosjean will at least have the advantage of being able to adapt his strategy, particularly during the first stint.
“It will still be nice to be able to choose your tires for the start because the behavior of the rubbers is very delicate with these temperatures”, confirmed the Haas driver.
