Grosjean: Testing in Austin to prepare for 2015

While Federico Gastaldi, Team Principal of Lotus F1 Team, had recognized a few days ago that Romain Grosjean should extend with the stableenstone next year, the former GP2 Series champion already seems to want to prepare the E23 Hybrid which will be powered by the Power Unit of Mercedes. The British team will test a conventional nose next week in Austin (Texas) during free practice for the next season.

“It’s amazing how quickly the season has gone, even though we’ve been through some long and difficult times”, declared the Frenchman, remembering Jules Bianchi's accident at the Japanese Grand Prix. “We approach Austin, Brazil (November 9) and Abu Dhabi (November 23) determined to do our best and using the testing sessions to study different aspects of the car in order to collect data for 2015.”

Romain Grosjean has excellent memories of the US Grand Prix since he won his last podium there last year with a second place. The Frenchman finished in the points during his two participations. “It's a balanced circuit where you don't need to have anything in particular for the car to work well,” added the Lotus driver. “The difficulty the first year was finding the right grip and it happened again last year. We should have an advantage this season due to the fact that the race takes place a few weeks earlier (November 17 in 2013) even if we are always looking for more grip! The first uphill turn is really fun when you're behind the wheel. The facilities are welcoming and the route is interesting. »
