Grosjean focuses on qualifying

After his abandonment in Monaco, Romain Grosjean got up in great style to get his second podium of the season in Montreal. The reigning GP2 Series champion took advantage of the heat of the track to extend his stint and climb into second place in the Canadian Grand Prix. If the Frenchman once again showed a promising pace by performing good stints with a significant quantity of fuel on board in free practice in Valencia, he will have to improve his performance on one lap for qualifying for the European Grand Prix on a street circuit where overtaking is particularly difficult.

After the heatwave the day before which hit Valencia, Romain Grosjean hoped to be faster taking advantage of more oppressive heat today. “This day was not as hot as expected with the weather we had the day before, but my speed on the long runs was satisfactory and the car reacted well. We still have a few things to test with the settings and we should gain some more speed. Qualifying will be a key moment for us because we saw that we still need to find some improvements on this point. It's not the end of the world because we have seen that we are in a much better position on Sunday. The challenge will be to find more performance in qualifying without disrupting (the speed in the race). »
