Grosjean: “A chance to return to F1”

Romain, you will be third Lotus driver Renault GP in 2011. What does this opportunity represent for you?
It?s a wonderful chance to come back Formula 1 because my dream is to regain my place on the grid. It's a good time to join this team because it's getting stronger and stronger and everyone was able to see its progress last year. Now, with the arrival of Lotus as a partner, there is a real buzz around the team and it is very exciting to be part of the adventure.

You have enjoyed a long association with enstone through your links with Renault. Was it special to come back?
It just felt like coming home. It brought back a lot of good memories because I know the place well and I have a lot of friends here. It is also special in the sense that the team is experiencing a new beginning and everyone is showing great motivation and desire for the year to come.

You have been around F1 for several years. What else can you learn from your role as third driver?
There are always things to learn in F1, especially in this era where drivers have much less time in the cars. Even just participating in the technical meetings will be beneficial and I know that I can learn a lot by listening to Robert and Vitaly talk about the car.

Your objectives for 2011 and what will be your competition program in parallel with F1?
I will race in GP2 Asia and GP2 this year with DAMS. I'm really looking forward to getting back there because this season marks the start of a new car and new Pirelli tires. So it will be a return to square one for everyone. The team is extremely motivated and we are ready to fight for the title.
