Grosjean wants to bounce back at Monaco GP

Si Kimi Räikkönen benefited from the good performance of the Lotus E21 to achieve a new podium at the Spanish Grand Prix, his teammate Romain Grosjean was more unlucky since the Frenchman retired following a broken rear suspension. The Frenchman remains optimistic for the next Monaco GP played next Sunday, being confident about the potential of his car and his team who showed good pace last year, even if the former GP2 Series champion had retired following contact.

“It will be fantastic to come back and ride here. It’s like a home race for me and it’s a circuit that I love”, comments Romain Grosjean. “We were very fast last year and I hope that will be the case again next week. I'm enjoying a week's break before it all starts. As a pilot, you have to stay calm and relaxed in order to do a good job. It’s a track that allows no mistakes. You have to respect that, that’s the key here. It's fantastic for me to drive in front of so many French spectators. Monaco offers a particular track where it is difficult to say whether the car will perform well there. It's bumpy on the straights and the track grip is very poor. We know more or less what to expect on normal circuits. I hope we will have a nice surprise and that the car will suit the specific challenges of Monaco. »
