From a personal point of view, how do you judge your 2021 season?
Overall, when I look at the number of points scored in 2021, I'm disappointed. Afterwards, when I analyze my performance in detail, I am rather happy. I made a lot of progress, especially in race and tire management. There were weekends where I adjusted the car too much for the race and not enough for qualifying, so it happened that I was seen to be less strong in qualifying than in the race. But it's the race that counts and we always managed to recover on Sunday, which was the most important thing. I am satisfied. Afterwards, there were races, notably Monaco (retirement before the start of the race while starting on pole. Editor’s note) and Budapest (victim of a collision at the 1st turn. Editor's note) which cost me 5th place in the championship.
In 2021, we feel that you have made big progress in the race compared to 2019, where your qualifications were flamboyant, but the pace on Sunday was more delicate. Have you changed your approach?
