Günther Steiner: “We kept our promises”

If the American team did not climb into the points from Russia, Haas F1 Team will head into Canada this weekend with renewed confidence. So much Romain Grosjean that Esteban Gutiérrez praised the progress made with the VF-16 since the start of the season, particularly since the changes made to the car from Spain.

“The car reacted much better to what we were doing, and to my driving style, comments the Frenchman. This is a good thing, and we are moving in the right direction. We went back to more traditional settings and worked from there. »

“We now have some consistency and we can build on that, pursues his Mexican teammate. The team is doing a great job learning more about the car, and becoming more efficient in developing and tuning the car. We are on track to achieve the results we want and get as many points as possible. »

Points which were clearly expected by Gene Haas's team last year during the various visits of the American management to the Grands Prix. At that time, Günther Steiner estimated that his team would have already scored points by arriving at the Gilles Villeneuve track.

« I think we kept our promises, underlines the Team Principal. We have a few points, but you always want more. It's the race. You are never satisfied with what you have, and you always want more. »
