Haas brings its latest developments to Singapore

Haas F1 Team is struggling to regain points even if the VF16 of Romain Grosjean and Esteban Gutiérrez are often close to points. The last top ten was won by Romain Grosjean at the Austrian Grand Prix last July while the American team finished 11th five times between the Spanish GP and the last Italian GP.

Günther Steiner, the Team Principal, and his team will bring the latest developments of the VF16 to the urban circuit of Marina Bay which is hosting the Singapore Grand Prix this weekend.

“We will make changes to the front wing, the flat bottom and the brake calipers. We are looking to reduce cornering sensitivity to make the car more stable and to improve aero and overall efficiency. explained the Italian engineer.

Haas F1 Team is in eighth place in the Championship and is now 17 points behind Toro Rosso. The American team must therefore play on two fronts by continuing the development of the VF16 while preparing for the 2017 season where the new regulations will come into play (see: AUTO n°2080hebdo).

“We finished developing this season’s car more than two months ago. These changes were made with data obtained in the wind tunnel and it took a little time to develop the changes. We have taken the necessary time to be better prepared for the next season. This is the latest development for this car », assured Günther Steiner.
