Hamilton rises above the fray at the Bahrain GP

Lewis Hamilton did not let anyone take away his 3rd victory of the season in 4 races. The Bahrain GP pole-sitter completed a perfect two-stop race to win ahead of Kimi Räikkönen and Nico Rosberg without being really threatened by the competition. The German was betrayed by his brakes in the final laps, allowing the driver Ferrari to climb into 2nd position after having implemented a significantly different strategy with a final stint on soft tires.

Sebastian Vettel must be content with 5th position behind Valtteri Bottas. The four-time world champion, author of several errors in this event, had to make a third stop to change his damaged front wing. Although faster, the Ferrari driver failed to find the opening on the Williams.

Daniel Ricciardo constantly progressed in 6th place and was barely able to reach the finish line with an engine that exploded a few meters from the checkered flag. Romain Grosjean followed in 7th position after moving at a distance from the Australian for most of the race.

Daniil Kvyat finished 9th ahead of Felipe Massa who saved a top ten after leaving the pits following an electrical problem. Bad luck continues for Toro Rosso in Bahrain since Carlos Sainz Jr and Max Verstappen abandoned due to mechanical problem.

Lewis Hamilton leaves the Bahrain GP with 27 points ahead of Nico Rosberg who takes 2nd place in the Drivers' standings for one unit ahead of Sebastian Vettel. Kimi Räikkönen is 23 points behind his teammate.
