Hamilton in uncertainty for his race pace

Behind in qualifying on the night of Singapore, Lewis Hamilton left the spotlight to his teammate at Mercedes Nico Rosberg, as well as the Red Bull RB12 Daniel Ricciardo, came to interfere in the usual duel between the W07 Hybrids.

The reigning world champion admits not having managed to put everything together to achieve good laps on the Marina Bay Circuit this Saturday, after lackluster free practice, marked in particular by several off-trajectory excursions.

“It wasn't really a frustrating session, it's just not my weekend so far, blurted the Briton. I didn't complete many good laps and I wasn't able to string any together. Nico did a great job and showed the true potential of the car. »

It now remains to turn to the Grand Prix for Hamilton, still leader of the championship with a margin reduced to two points against Rosberg. For the old pilot McLaren, the first objective will be to ensure at least the double for his team.

But Hamilton still remains cautious about his pace over the long stints. “I haven’t really looked at that parameter to be honest. Obviously, I didn't do any yesterday, so I'm not entirely sure. I think Nico accomplished some, but our cars are set up a little differently. I don't think we're in a bad position, but we will see it tomorrow. »

The Singapore Grand Prix will start tomorrow at 14 p.m. and can be followed live with our live text. Photos of the event can be viewed in our dedicated gallery.
