The British Grand Prix has secured its future for years to come and will remain at Silverstone. After the failure of Donington Park, the British Racing Driver's Club, owner of the Silverstone circuit, managed to reach an agreement with FOM (Formula One Management), represented by Bernie Ecclestone. Lewis Hamilton, world champion in 2008, expressed his satisfaction.
« On the one hand, it is fantastic news that the British Grand Prix remains on the 2010 calendar., Hamilton told SkySports. Secondly, it?s great that the race is taking place at Silverstone. The place has an atmosphere that money can't buy, and I have some fantastic memories there, like winning two GP2 races there in 2006. »
