Hamilton identified his Sochi problems
Fourth in Russia, Lewis Hamilton had never seemed able to compete for the podium on the Sochi track. The pilot Mercedes said Thursday at a press conference in Barcelona in Catalonia that the problems encountered during the last event had been identified.
" It is a tire problem in the sense that the window of use is really narrow, explains the Briton. And I think we haven't been in that weekend window. »
A factor which should play its role in Barcelona, on a demanding track regarding this parameter, and where Pirelli brought its toughest range. “It’s a new tire which is exciting, adds Hamilton. These are very very resistant tires, therefore a hard and safe tire. It will be interesting to see how they perform this weekend. »
Caution required in Catalonia
The Briton believes, however, that the problems encountered were analyzed and better understood by Mercedes AMG. F1. Hamilton, however, remains cautious before the first Catalan runs. “We are better prepared now, but I can't really say it's going to be better this weekend. »
